In 2003 twenty people from the Ballyfermot area, of varying ages, took part in a 10 week
photography course. 10 people attended on Saturday and 10 on Sunday. At the end of this course there was a local photography competition held, and the people of Ballyfermot voted for which pictures they would like to see in Ballyfermot’s first ever
calendar. The project was a great success, but the participants now had a real taste for photography and not wanting it to end at that, both groups got together to form “SatSun” photographic club, which is now in its 7th year.
As relative novices the group still had a lot to learn. They were joined by two local photographers with a wealth of experience between them, and the club has thrived every since. We are made up of ordinary people, from all walks of life, and from many different areas, who happen to share a common interest in photography. New members are always most welcome! So we look forward to seeing you here!

Satsun meet every Monday night from September to June at 7:30 p.m. in the Resource Centre on Ballyfermot Road. We have “know your camera” nights, practical demonstrations, outside lecturers, outside judges, monthly competitions, monthly outings, and much more, a lot of fun to be had by all!!
